Foreign Minister visits Dominican Republic and Haiti

The foreign ministry reported on Sunday that Foreign Minister James Huang was in the Dominican Republic to visit the recent windstorm disaster-stricken areas and later paid a visit to Haiti. Both are Taiwan's allied nations in Central America.

Huang presented relief aid of US$300,000 on behalf of Taiwan to the Dominican Republic. He also met with the country's vice president, Rafael Alburquerque, who said that he hopes that Taiwan would invest more in the country.

While in Haiti, Huang met with Haitian President Rene Preval and exchanged views about business cooperation and agricultural development.
