New clinic to promote medical tourism from China

A new clinic aims to be at the forefront of bringing Chinese patients to Taiwan for medical treatment. Taiwan Health is a high-end clinic funded by a Taiwanese businessman based in China. It is scheduled to open in Guangzhou in southern China in June.

The clinic will cater to other Taiwanese professionals working in China. But it is also hoped that it will conduct referrals for Chinese patients who wish to be treated in Taiwan. The clinic has already signed cooperation agreements with ten Taiwanese private hospitals.

The government is keen to promote the idea of medical tourism to Taiwan, where medical care ranks among the highest in Asia.
