Missile removal can be discussed: Ex-Chinese official

A former Chinese military official says the issue of China's removing its missiles targeting Taiwan can be discussed.

Li Jijun, a former top official with China's Central Military Commission, made the remarks on Saturday. Li was responding to Taiwanese scholars' call for China to remove its missiles targeting Taiwan. He was speaking at a seminar titled "60 Years Across the Taiwan Strait," the largest-ever academic exchange between Taiwan and China.

As for how to discuss the issue of missile removal, Li did not give a clear answer. He only said there would be a mechanism to resolve this issue.
