Today in History

On November 24, 1859: Charles Darwin, the British naturalist who revolutionized the study of biology with his theory of evolution, published his book "The Origin of Species."

On this day in 1894: Dr. Sun Yat-sen founded his first revolutionary organization, the Hsing-chung-hui (Society for Regenerating China), with a group of overseas Chinese youths in Honolulu. The organization was later reorganized as the Kuomintang (Nationalist Party).

On this day in 1966: The Asian Development Bank was established in Tokyo.
