Mr.Seraki Matsebe, the Representative of the Liaison Office of South Africa in Taipei said SMEs (Small and Medium-sized enterprises) are the backbone of Taiwan’s economy and South Africa is moving on the same track adding that SME’s in South Africa, in order to survive, need to engage in partnership with other countries including those from Taiwan. Taiwan’s minister of economic affairs led a delegation to South Africa recently to foster such connections.

Taiwan and South Africa have had cooperation in the areas of agriculture, forestry and fisheries and every year joint working committee between the two sides is held alternately in Taiwan and South Africa.
