Singapore is the country that people in Taiwan like the most. That’s the word from a survey by the Taiwan Public Opinion Foundation.
When allowed to choose more than one country, about 87% said they liked Singapore. That was the highest percentage of the 12 major countries and areas in Asia and beyond. Japan came in second with 84%. Canada was third with 83%, followed by the European Union and Australia each with 78%, and the United States at 68%.
The survey also highlighted the countries people in Taiwan disliked the most. North Korea came out on top at 82%. After that was the Philippines at 57% and then China at 47%. Around 42% said they disliked South Korea.
The survey was conducted between March 13 and 14, producing 1,185 valid samples. It had a confidence level of 95 percent and a margin of error of 2.85 percent.
