The National Palace Museum has released a new promotional animated short that contains many new, children-friendly elements.
The video, released by the museum on Tuesday, includes cartoon characters representing museum artifacts and characters made popular by the messaging app Line. For background music, the film uses a rap song performed by Dream Walker, a local rapper from Taiwan.
The director of the video short says that the storyline features a group of artifacts lost in the universe that are searching for their friends in order to complete a mission to line up the stars.
Huang Yung-tai, the deputy director of the museum, says that the purpose of including characters from a messaging app in the video is to give the museum a younger, more contemporary image that is more relatable to the internet generation. (Jake Chen, RTI news.)
