Taiwanese girl group S.H.E. held a free concert on Tuesday to thank fans for their support over the group’s 17-year career.
S.H.E. sang 22 of their most popular songs on Tuesday, in front of over 22,000 fans who braved the heat at the outdoor Main Plaza of the National Theatre & Concert Hall.
One highlight during the concert was when Ella’s 18-month-old son came onto the stage. The boy greeted the fans and provided more entertainment when he playfully snatched Hebe’s microphone.
The group’s management, HIM International Music, spent NT$ 30 million (US$1 million) to hold the free concert to thank the fans and to celebrate S.H.E.’s 17-year career.
The group’s name is the acronym of the three members’ English names. Selina Jen, Hebe Tien and Ella Chen formed S.H.E. in 2001 and the group quickly became one of the most successful Mandopop acts of the 21st century. The group has sold over 10 million of their 12 albums. Each of the group’s three members has also had success in solo projects, as well as acting and hosting variety shows.
