Sports products with integrated software and artificial intelligence are taking center stage at the 2018 Taipei International Sporting Goods Show (TaiSPO).
The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) is hosting the expo. TAITRA Secretary General Walter Yeh said the products with advanced software are this year’s highlight, such as a new mini-gold kit with virtual reality (VR) functions.
Yeh also said the latest fabric has integrated data sensors that allow sportswear to record and analyze athletes’ biometric data.
“The data sensors are capable of recording the human body’s parameters in real time for later use. I think it is really important that the latest cloud and big data technologies are being utilized on sportswear and sports equipment. There are also advanced treadmills that send data up to a cloud in order to promote competition and interaction [among the runners],” said Yeh.
This year’s TaiSPO also features seminars with experts from Taiwan and abroad who share their experiences and expertise with the public.
